Body Shop VS Bath & Body Works

So, I am a fan of both Body shop and Bath & Body Works. Today, i would like to do a comparison between these two brands. Mainly, their body lotion/body butter.

I love British Rose range and i bought their lotion (the whole range infact). British Rose, lotion was perfect. Smells good and makes you feel so calm and fresh. However, i notice something post one year of getting the body lotion. The smell actually fades off. I mean you spend a bomb and get the huge body lotion and you try to use a very little of it so that it last long and Puff! after a year you notice the rose smell fades away. Well, very disappointing. And i don't remember The Body Shop's sales girl telling me that the duration of the lotion. (I am pretty sure she did not)


Totally opposite is Bath & Body Works lotion. Post more than a year and the lotions smells as strong as new. I bought a few body lotions from them almost 2 years ago and i am shocked that it smells as new as i bought them. Plus the price slighter cheaper than body shop and totally worth it. As for body lotions, for long lasting hands down for Bath & Body Works. 

*** I use both The Body Shop and Bath & Body Works products. It is just for the body lotion, i prefer Bath & Body Works. Views are of my own.

Since i have so many wedding coming up in the family, I've decided to post about some pre-wedding rituals in a Sri Lankan (ceylonese) wedding. It is also called as ponnuruku and the gold that is used to take the thali is melted at the bridegroom's house. Apparently this is an essential ceremony and it cannot be skipped. This ceremony normally occurs 5-7 days before the wedding. The groom presents the gold to the family's goldsmith to be melted in a clay pot. The bride do not participate  in this and the groom and bride from this time onwards do not see each other and they remain vegetarians until the wedding is over. Why Does A Ceylonese Bride Wear A Veil?

So, why does a Ceylonese bride wear a veil? I myself don't know much about the tradition. I wasn't even aware of this until a few posts came up on Facebook. I don't any reason behind all the tradition that happens in a Ceylonese wedding. In a typical Ceylon wedding, the grooms sits on the manavarai (Canopy) through out the wedding. The brides comes in after the "rakshabandham" of the groom. Trust me, i don't even know what the hell is this. So apparently the bride and groom cannot see each other until he (groom) hands the bride her "Koorai" saree (wedding saree). That is the reason why a Ceylon bride wears a veil. The whole cost of the wedding falls under the bride's responsibility. Remember my earlier post about the gold melting ceremony? That is purely the responsibility of the groom's side. Feed Your Skin: Facial Treatment Essence #SK-ii

I was a little hesitant to purchase this because of the price. but after using it i understand why it's this pricey!  I have used few small bottles (10ml) and in the midst of one 75ML bottle.
